PETG is made from Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) enhanced with glycol (hence the letter G after PET). The glycol is added to the material composition during polymerization and the result is a filament that is clearer, less brittle, and easier to use than its base form of PET.

It’s an excellent filament choice for printing objects that need to be sturdy, have a smooth surface, and require lower shrinkage.

  • Physical strength is generally higher with PETG compared to PLA.
  • Temperature tolerance is typically much higher with PETG. Some extreme PETG blends like Arnite 3040 from Nexeo 3D can handle peak temperatures of up to 250ºC. However, a more common tolerance for PETG is around 75ºC. With PLA, on the other hand, you generally have to keep 3D printed parts below 55ºC to keep them solid.
  • Outdoor use goes to PETG, as it handles weather and sun far better than PLA. On the other hand, PLA can be made much more durable when painted, protecting it from the elements.
  • Transparency is easiest to achieve with a PETG filament
  • Excellent layer adhesion
  • Warp resistance
  • Reduced shrinkage
  • Higher density
  • Chemical resistance to both acidic and alkali compounds
  • Flexible printing on glass, acrylic, glass, blue tape and polyimide tape
  • Odorlessness during printing

Make it STICK! multiuse bed adhesion sticker

Description:

When 3D printing, it’s vital to ensure good adhesion of your print to the bed. If the print does not stick well to the 3d printer bed, there’s a good chance that it will become loose and that the print will fail.

There are a few ways to prevent this

  • Bed levelling
  • Heated Bed
  • Cleaning bed for dust
  • Using adhesion like glue stick or ABS juice
  • Print a raft under your print using slicer settings
All these approaches does the job but is a hassle when you have to get to it every time you have a print job.To make printing easier and reliable we present a printing bed sticker which is made of special material which makes the print stick to the bed. It works well for ABS and PLA and can be used on a heated or non heated bed. The model can be easily removed after the print unlike other systems where it takes a lot of work to get it of the bed.

The bed sticker has a 3M tape and is made of high temperature resistant material with special processing and got a frosted texture.

3D printer kill switch: Essential when print goes bad

Description:

The 3D printer is an amazing tool which allows any design to be given a physical shape, But it is also prone to errors.

A few times you shoot a print and come back to see it half done in a tangled mess of plastic, this is the time you want to cleanly power of the printer without having

to open the printing software and struggle to get the print stopped on its tracks.

We provide a nice tool for this job which is a latching press button kill switch, you press it to kill the power to the printer.

Once you clean up the job gone wrong and all you need to do is twist the switch and its back to operation.

Applications

  • 3D printer
  • CNC machines
  • Motors
  • Industrial machines
  • Pumps
There are 2 ways to wire the kill switch

Kill switch on 12V power:

The switch is connected between the 12V power supply and the printer, making it easy to wire.

Connect the +ve coming from DC power supply to port 1 and port 2 is connected to the +ve going to the 3D printer.

Kill switch as a traditional 230V switch:

In this configuration the switch acts like a traditional mains switch and cuts of power to the 3D printer.

It is reccomended for safety reasons to have an electrician to wire the kill switch for this configuration.

FAQ:

Who uses these?

These, and their manual predecessors, have been used for decades by engineers, doctors, mechanics, optometrists and hobbyists because of their versatility.  From measuring hole spacings between pins and circuit board drillings, cylinder depths, pistons widths and pupil spacing, these calipers are a must have addition for anybody serious about accuracy. Its a must have for 3d printing enthusiasts to calibrate the printer for precise extrusion and get the correct filament diameter, Getting these parameters right improves the quality of the print considerably.

So it's like a ruler or tape measure, then?

Not quite.  A ruler can only provide so much accuracy, and cannot be used to measure irregular shaped objects.  The thin depth pointer provides access to reccesses that a broad tape oe rule just can't fit in to.

Will it scratch or mark the thing I'm trying to measure?

The composite material is far better suited for measuring delicate items than some equivalents, as there are no extremely hard surfaces on the jaws to gouge in to the object.
